Hi, folks! The other day I head NPR interview Clay Johnson, the author of a new book called The Information Diet. It's about how we can take conscious measures to overcome our natural tendency toward confirmation bias, i.e., only seeking out and taking in information that reinforces what we already believe. This has motivated me to start a study group. Beyond discussing the book itself, we could meet in an ongoing way to assist one another in overcoming bias.
I'm fresh from the Reason Rally in Washington DC and while there is an active Freethinker community in the Philadelphia area, i'm looking to connect with people closer to home to get together over a cup of coffee or tea to share our experiences as Non-Theists!
